Hizb 27

الٓرۚ تِلۡكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ وَقُرۡءَانٖ مُّبِينٖ﴿١﴾

Aliflamra tilka ayatu alkitabi waquranin mubeenin

Alif, Lam, Ra. These are the verses of the Book and a clear Qur'an

رُّبَمَا يَوَدُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوۡ كَانُواْ مُسۡلِمِينَ﴿٢﴾

Rubama yawaddu allatheena kafaroo law kanoo muslimeena

Perhaps those who disbelieve will wish that they had been Muslims

ذَرۡهُمۡ يَأۡكُلُواْ وَيَتَمَتَّعُواْ وَيُلۡهِهِمُ ٱلۡأَمَلُۖ فَسَوۡفَ يَعۡلَمُونَ﴿٣﴾

Tharhum yakuloo wayatamattaAAoo wayulhihimu alamalu fasawfa yaAAlamoona

Let them eat and enjoy themselves and be diverted by [false] hope, for they are going to know

وَمَآ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مِن قَرۡيَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابٞ مَّعۡلُومٞ﴿٤﴾

Wama ahlakna min qaryatin illa walaha kitabun maAAloomun

And We did not destroy any city but that for it was a known decree

مَّا تَسۡبِقُ مِنۡ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسۡتَـٔۡخِرُونَ﴿٥﴾

Ma tasbiqu min ommatin ajalaha wama yastakhiroona

No nation will precede its term, nor will they remain thereafter

وَقَالُواْ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِي نُزِّلَ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلذِّكۡرُ إِنَّكَ لَمَجۡنُونٞ﴿٦﴾

Waqaloo ya ayyuha allathee nuzzila AAalayhi alththikru innaka lamajnoonun

And they say, "O you upon whom the message has been sent down, indeed you are mad

لَّوۡمَا تَأۡتِينَا بِٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ﴿٧﴾

Law ma tateena bialmalaikati in kunta mina alssadiqeena

Why do you not bring us the angels, if you should be among the truthful

مَا نُنَزِّلُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوٓاْ إِذٗا مُّنظَرِينَ﴿٨﴾

Ma nunazzilu almalaikata illa bialhaqqi wama kanoo ithan munthareena

We do not send down the angels except with truth; and the disbelievers would not then be reprieved

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ﴿٩﴾

Inna nahnu nazzalna alththikra wainna lahu lahafithoona

Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian

وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ فِي شِيَعِ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ﴿١٠﴾

Walaqad arsalna min qablika fee shiyaAAi alawwaleena

And We had certainly sent [messengers] before you, [O Muhammad], among the sects of the former peoples

وَمَا يَأۡتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ﴿١١﴾

Wama yateehim min rasoolin illa kanoo bihi yastahzioona

And no messenger would come to them except that they ridiculed him

كَذَٰلِكَ نَسۡلُكُهُۥ فِي قُلُوبِ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ﴿١٢﴾

Kathalika naslukuhu fee quloobi almujrimeena

Thus do We insert denial into the hearts of the criminals

لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِهِۦ وَقَدۡ خَلَتۡ سُنَّةُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ﴿١٣﴾

La yuminoona bihi waqad khalat sunnatu alawwaleena

They will not believe in it, while there has already occurred the precedent of the former peoples

وَلَوۡ فَتَحۡنَا عَلَيۡهِم بَابٗا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَظَلُّواْ فِيهِ يَعۡرُجُونَ﴿١٤﴾

Walaw fatahna AAalayhim baban mina alssamai fathalloo feehi yaAArujoona

And [even] if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they continued therein to ascend

لَقَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتۡ أَبۡصَٰرُنَا بَلۡ نَحۡنُ قَوۡمٞ مَّسۡحُورُونَ﴿١٥﴾

Laqaloo innama sukkirat absaruna bal nahnu qawmun mashooroona

They would say, "Our eyes have only been dazzled. Rather, we are a people affected by magic

وَلَقَدۡ جَعَلۡنَا فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ بُرُوجٗا وَزَيَّنَّـٰهَا لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ﴿١٦﴾

Walaqad jaAAalna fee alssamai buroojan wazayyannaha lilnnathireena

And We have placed within the heaven great stars and have beautified it for the observers

وَحَفِظۡنَٰهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيۡطَٰنٖ رَّجِيمٍ﴿١٧﴾

Wahafithnaha min kulli shaytanin rajeemin

And We have protected it from every devil expelled [from the mercy of Allah]

إِلَّا مَنِ ٱسۡتَرَقَ ٱلسَّمۡعَ فَأَتۡبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٞ مُّبِينٞ﴿١٨﴾

Illa mani istaraqa alssamAAa faatbaAAahu shihabun mubeenun

Except one who steals a hearing and is pursued by a clear burning flame

وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ مَدَدۡنَٰهَا وَأَلۡقَيۡنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِيَ وَأَنۢبَتۡنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ مَّوۡزُونٖ﴿١٩﴾

Waalarda madadnaha waalqayna feeha rawasiya waanbatna feeha min kulli shayin mawzoonin

And the earth - We have spread it and cast therein firmly set mountains and caused to grow therein [something] of every well-balanced thing

وَجَعَلۡنَا لَكُمۡ فِيهَا مَعَٰيِشَ وَمَن لَّسۡتُمۡ لَهُۥ بِرَٰزِقِينَ﴿٢٠﴾

WajaAAalna lakum feeha maAAayisha waman lastum lahu biraziqeena

And We have made for you therein means of living and [for] those for whom you are not providers

وَإِن مِّن شَيۡءٍ إِلَّا عِندَنَا خَزَآئِنُهُۥ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِقَدَرٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ﴿٢١﴾

Wain min shayin illa AAindana khazainuhu wama nunazziluhu illa biqadarin maAAloomin

And there is not a thing but that with Us are its depositories, and We do not send it down except according to a known measure

وَأَرۡسَلۡنَا ٱلرِّيَٰحَ لَوَٰقِحَ فَأَنزَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَأَسۡقَيۡنَٰكُمُوهُ وَمَآ أَنتُمۡ لَهُۥ بِخَٰزِنِينَ﴿٢٢﴾

Waarsalna alrriyaha lawaqiha faanzalna mina alssamai maan faasqaynakumoohu wama antum lahu bikhazineena

And We have sent the fertilizing winds and sent down water from the sky and given you drink from it. And you are not its retainers

وَإِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ نُحۡيِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحۡنُ ٱلۡوَٰرِثُونَ﴿٢٣﴾

Wainna lanahnu nuhyee wanumeetu wanahnu alwarithoona

And indeed, it is We who give life and cause death, and We are the Inheritor

وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡتَقۡدِمِينَ مِنكُمۡ وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡتَـٔۡخِرِينَ﴿٢٤﴾

Walaqad AAalimna almustaqdimeena minkum walaqad AAalimna almustakhireena

And We have already known the preceding [generations] among you, and We have already known the later [ones to come]

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَحۡشُرُهُمۡۚ إِنَّهُۥ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٞ﴿٢٥﴾

Wainna rabbaka huwa yahshuruhum innahu hakeemun AAaleemun

And indeed, your Lord will gather them; indeed, He is Wise and Knowing

وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِن صَلۡصَٰلٖ مِّنۡ حَمَإٖ مَّسۡنُونٖ﴿٢٦﴾

Walaqad khalaqna alinsana min salsalin min hamain masnoonin

And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud

وَٱلۡجَآنَّ خَلَقۡنَٰهُ مِن قَبۡلُ مِن نَّارِ ٱلسَّمُومِ﴿٢٧﴾

Waaljanna khalaqnahu min qablu min nari alssamoomi

And the jinn We created before from scorching fire

وَإِذۡ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّي خَٰلِقُۢ بَشَرٗا مِّن صَلۡصَٰلٖ مِّنۡ حَمَإٖ مَّسۡنُونٖ﴿٢٨﴾

Waith qala rabbuka lilmalaikati innee khaliqun basharan min salsalin min hamain masnoonin

And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "I will create a human being out of clay from an altered black mud

فَإِذَا سَوَّيۡتُهُۥ وَنَفَخۡتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِي فَقَعُواْ لَهُۥ سَٰجِدِينَ﴿٢٩﴾

Faitha sawwaytuhu wanafakhtu feehi min roohee faqaAAoo lahu sajideena

And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration

فَسَجَدَ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعُونَ﴿٣٠﴾

Fasajada almalaikatu kulluhum ajmaAAoona

So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely

إِلَّآ إِبۡلِيسَ أَبَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ﴿٣١﴾

Illa ibleesa aba an yakoona maAAa alssajideena

Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated

قَالَ يَـٰٓإِبۡلِيسُ مَا لَكَ أَلَّا تَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ﴿٣٢﴾

Qala ya ibleesu ma laka alla takoona maAAa alssajideena

[Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate

قَالَ لَمۡ أَكُن لِّأَسۡجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقۡتَهُۥ مِن صَلۡصَٰلٖ مِّنۡ حَمَإٖ مَّسۡنُونٖ﴿٣٣﴾

Qala lam akun liasjuda libasharin khalaqtahu min salsalin min hamain masnoonin

He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud

قَالَ فَٱخۡرُجۡ مِنۡهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٞ﴿٣٤﴾

Qala faokhruj minha fainnaka rajeemun

[Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled

وَإِنَّ عَلَيۡكَ ٱللَّعۡنَةَ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ﴿٣٥﴾

Wainna AAalayka allaAAnata ila yawmi alddeeni

And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense

قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرۡنِيٓ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ يُبۡعَثُونَ﴿٣٦﴾

Qala rabbi faanthirnee ila yawmi yubAAathoona

He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected

قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُنظَرِينَ﴿٣٧﴾

Qala fainnaka mina almunthareena

[Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved

إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡوَقۡتِ ٱلۡمَعۡلُومِ﴿٣٨﴾

Ila yawmi alwaqti almaAAloomi

Until the Day of the time well-known

قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَغۡوَيۡتَنِي لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَأُغۡوِيَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ﴿٣٩﴾

Qala rabbi bima aghwaytanee laozayyinanna lahum fee alardi walaoghwiyannahum ajmaAAeena

[Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all

إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنۡهُمُ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ﴿٤٠﴾

Illa AAibadaka minhumu almukhlaseena

Except, among them, Your chosen servants

قَالَ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ عَلَيَّ مُسۡتَقِيمٌ﴿٤١﴾

Qala hatha siratun AAalayya mustaqeemun

[Allah] said, "This is a path [of return] to Me [that is] straight

إِنَّ عِبَادِي لَيۡسَ لَكَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ سُلۡطَٰنٌ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡغَاوِينَ﴿٤٢﴾

Inna AAibadee laysa laka AAalayhim sultanun illa mani ittabaAAaka mina alghaweena

Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators

وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوۡعِدُهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ﴿٤٣﴾

Wainna jahannama lamawAAiduhum ajmaAAeena

And indeed, Hell is the promised place for them all

لَهَا سَبۡعَةُ أَبۡوَٰبٖ لِّكُلِّ بَابٖ مِّنۡهُمۡ جُزۡءٞ مَّقۡسُومٌ﴿٤٤﴾

Laha sabAAatu abwabin likulli babin minhum juzon maqsoomun

It has seven gates; for every gate is of them a portion designated

إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّـٰتٖ وَعُيُونٍ﴿٤٥﴾

Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatin waAAuyoonin

Indeed, the righteous will be within gardens and springs

ٱدۡخُلُوهَا بِسَلَٰمٍ ءَامِنِينَ﴿٤٦﴾

Odkhulooha bisalamin amineena

[Having been told], "Enter it in peace, safe [and secure]

وَنَزَعۡنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِم مِّنۡ غِلٍّ إِخۡوَٰنًا عَلَىٰ سُرُرٖ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ﴿٤٧﴾

WanazaAAna ma fee sudoorihim min ghillin ikhwanan AAala sururin mutaqabileena

And We will remove whatever is in their breasts of resentment, [so they will be] brothers, on thrones facing each other

لَا يَمَسُّهُمۡ فِيهَا نَصَبٞ وَمَا هُم مِّنۡهَا بِمُخۡرَجِينَ﴿٤٨﴾

La yamassuhum feeha nasabun wama hum minha bimukhrajeena

No fatigue will touch them therein, nor from it will they [ever] be removed

۞نَبِّئۡ عِبَادِيٓ أَنِّيٓ أَنَا ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ﴿٤٩﴾

Nabbi AAibadee annee ana alghafooru alrraheemu

[O Muhammad], inform My servants that it is I who am the Forgiving, the Merciful

وَأَنَّ عَذَابِي هُوَ ٱلۡعَذَابُ ٱلۡأَلِيمُ﴿٥٠﴾

Wa anna AAathabee huwa alAAathabu alaleemu

And that it is My punishment which is the painful punishment

وَنَبِّئۡهُمۡ عَن ضَيۡفِ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ﴿٥١﴾

Wanabbihum AAan dayfi ibraheema

And inform them about the guests of Abraham

إِذۡ دَخَلُواْ عَلَيۡهِ فَقَالُواْ سَلَٰمٗا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمۡ وَجِلُونَ﴿٥٢﴾

Ith dakhaloo AAalayhi faqaloo salaman qala inna minkum wajiloona

When they entered upon him and said, "Peace." [Abraham] said, "Indeed, we are fearful of you

قَالُواْ لَا تَوۡجَلۡ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَٰمٍ عَلِيمٖ﴿٥٣﴾

Qaloo la tawjal inna nubashshiruka bighulamin AAaleemin

[The angels] said, "Fear not. Indeed, we give you good tidings of a learned boy

قَالَ أَبَشَّرۡتُمُونِي عَلَىٰٓ أَن مَّسَّنِيَ ٱلۡكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ﴿٥٤﴾

Qala abashshartumoonee AAala an massaniya alkibaru fabima tubashshirooni

He said, "Have you given me good tidings although old age has come upon me? Then of what [wonder] do you inform

قَالُواْ بَشَّرۡنَٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلۡقَٰنِطِينَ﴿٥٥﴾

Qaloo bashsharnaka bialhaqqi fala takun mina alqaniteena

They said, "We have given you good tidings in truth, so do not be of the despairing

قَالَ وَمَن يَقۡنَطُ مِن رَّحۡمَةِ رَبِّهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ﴿٥٦﴾

Qala waman yaqnatu min rahmati rabbihi illa alddalloona

He said, "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord except for those astray

قَالَ فَمَا خَطۡبُكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ﴿٥٧﴾

Qala fama khatbukum ayyuha almursaloona

[Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers

قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّآ أُرۡسِلۡنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمٖ مُّجۡرِمِينَ﴿٥٨﴾

Qaloo inna orsilna ila qawmin mujrimeena

They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals

إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ﴿٥٩﴾

Illa ala lootin inna lamunajjoohum ajmaAAeena

Except the family of Lot; indeed, we will save them all

إِلَّا ٱمۡرَأَتَهُۥ قَدَّرۡنَآ إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ ٱلۡغَٰبِرِينَ﴿٦٠﴾

Illa imraatahu qaddarna innaha lamina alghabireena

Except his wife." Allah decreed that she is of those who remain behind

فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ءَالَ لُوطٍ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ﴿٦١﴾

Falamma jaa ala lootin almursaloona

And when the messengers came to the family of Lot

قَالَ إِنَّكُمۡ قَوۡمٞ مُّنكَرُونَ﴿٦٢﴾

Qala innakum qawmun munkaroona

He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown

قَالُواْ بَلۡ جِئۡنَٰكَ بِمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَمۡتَرُونَ﴿٦٣﴾

Qaloo bal jinaka bima kanoo feehi yamtaroona

They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing

وَأَتَيۡنَٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَٰدِقُونَ﴿٦٤﴾

Waataynaka bialhaqqi wainna lasadiqoona

And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful

فَأَسۡرِ بِأَهۡلِكَ بِقِطۡعٖ مِّنَ ٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱتَّبِعۡ أَدۡبَٰرَهُمۡ وَلَا يَلۡتَفِتۡ مِنكُمۡ أَحَدٞ وَٱمۡضُواْ حَيۡثُ تُؤۡمَرُونَ﴿٦٥﴾

Faasri biahlika biqitAAin mina allayli waittabiAA adbarahum wala yaltafit minkum ahadun waimdoo haythu tumaroona

So set out with your family during a portion of the night and follow behind them and let not anyone among you look back and continue on to where you are commanded

وَقَضَيۡنَآ إِلَيۡهِ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡأَمۡرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ مَقۡطُوعٞ مُّصۡبِحِينَ﴿٦٦﴾

Waqadayna ilayhi thalika alamra anna dabira haolai maqtooAAun musbiheena

And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning

وَجَآءَ أَهۡلُ ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ يَسۡتَبۡشِرُونَ﴿٦٧﴾

Wajaa ahlu almadeenati yastabshiroona

And the people of the city came rejoicing

قَالَ إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ضَيۡفِي فَلَا تَفۡضَحُونِ﴿٦٨﴾

Qala inna haolai dayfee fala tafdahooni

[Lot] said, "Indeed, these are my guests, so do not shame me

وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخۡزُونِ﴿٦٩﴾

Waittaqoo Allaha wala tukhzooni

And fear Allah and do not disgrace me

قَالُوٓاْ أَوَلَمۡ نَنۡهَكَ عَنِ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ﴿٧٠﴾

Qaloo awalam nanhaka AAani alAAalameena

They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people

قَالَ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ بَنَاتِيٓ إِن كُنتُمۡ فَٰعِلِينَ﴿٧١﴾

Qala haolai banatee in kuntum faAAileena

[Lot] said, "These are my daughters - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]

لَعَمۡرُكَ إِنَّهُمۡ لَفِي سَكۡرَتِهِمۡ يَعۡمَهُونَ﴿٧٢﴾

LaAAamruka innahum lafee sakratihim yaAAmahoona

By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly

فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّيۡحَةُ مُشۡرِقِينَ﴿٧٣﴾

Faakhathathumu alssayhatu mushriqeena

So the shriek seized them at sunrise

فَجَعَلۡنَا عَٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمۡطَرۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ حِجَارَةٗ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ﴿٧٤﴾

FajaAAalna AAaliyaha safilaha waamtarna AAalayhim hijaratan min sijjeelin

And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay

إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّلۡمُتَوَسِّمِينَ﴿٧٥﴾

Inna fee thalika laayatin lilmutawassimeena

Indeed in that are signs for those who discern

وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيلٖ مُّقِيمٍ﴿٧٦﴾

Wainnaha labisabeelin muqeemin

And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road

إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ﴿٧٧﴾

Inna fee thalika laayatan lilmumineena

Indeed in that is a sign for the believers

وَإِن كَانَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡأَيۡكَةِ لَظَٰلِمِينَ﴿٧٨﴾

Wain kana ashabu alaykati lathalimeena

And the companions of the thicket were [also] wrongdoers

فَٱنتَقَمۡنَا مِنۡهُمۡ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٖ مُّبِينٖ﴿٧٩﴾

Faintaqamna minhum wainnahuma labiimamin mubeenin

So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway

وَلَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡحِجۡرِ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ﴿٨٠﴾

Walaqad kaththaba ashabu alhijri almursaleena

And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers

وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمۡ ءَايَٰتِنَا فَكَانُواْ عَنۡهَا مُعۡرِضِينَ﴿٨١﴾

Waataynahum ayatina fakanoo AAanha muAArideena

And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away

وَكَانُواْ يَنۡحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا ءَامِنِينَ﴿٨٢﴾

Wakanoo yanhitoona mina aljibali buyootan amineena

And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure

فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّيۡحَةُ مُصۡبِحِينَ﴿٨٣﴾

Faakhathathumu alssayhatu musbiheena

But the shriek seized them at early morning

فَمَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ﴿٨٤﴾

Fama aghna AAanhum ma kanoo yaksiboona

So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn

وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ لَأٓتِيَةٞۖ فَٱصۡفَحِ ٱلصَّفۡحَ ٱلۡجَمِيلَ﴿٨٥﴾

Wama khalaqna alssamawati waalarda wama baynahuma illa bialhaqqi wainna alssaAAata laatiyatun faisfahi alssafha aljameela

And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلۡخَلَّـٰقُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ﴿٨٦﴾

Inna rabbaka huwa alkhallaqu alAAaleemu

Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator

وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَٰكَ سَبۡعٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡمَثَانِي وَٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ ٱلۡعَظِيمَ﴿٨٧﴾

Walaqad ataynaka sabAAan mina almathanee waalqurana alAAatheema

And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an

لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيۡنَيۡكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعۡنَا بِهِۦٓ أَزۡوَٰجٗا مِّنۡهُمۡ وَلَا تَحۡزَنۡ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَٱخۡفِضۡ جَنَاحَكَ لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ﴿٨٨﴾

La tamuddanna AAaynayka ila ma mattaAAna bihi azwajan minhum wala tahzan AAalayhim waikhfid janahaka lilmumineena

Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers

وَقُلۡ إِنِّيٓ أَنَا ٱلنَّذِيرُ ٱلۡمُبِينُ﴿٨٩﴾

Waqul innee ana alnnatheeru almubeenu

And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner

كَمَآ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡمُقۡتَسِمِينَ﴿٩٠﴾

Kama anzalna AAala almuqtasimeena

Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators

ٱلَّذِينَ جَعَلُواْ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ عِضِينَ﴿٩١﴾

Allatheena jaAAaloo alqurana AAideena

Who have made the Qur'an into portions

فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسۡـَٔلَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ﴿٩٢﴾

Fawarabbika lanasalannahum ajmaAAeena

So by your Lord, We will surely question them all

عَمَّا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ﴿٩٣﴾

AAamma kanoo yaAAmaloona

About what they used to do

فَٱصۡدَعۡ بِمَا تُؤۡمَرُ وَأَعۡرِضۡ عَنِ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ﴿٩٤﴾

FaisdaAA bima tumaru waaAArid AAani almushrikeena

Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists

إِنَّا كَفَيۡنَٰكَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَهۡزِءِينَ﴿٩٥﴾

Inna kafaynaka almustahzieena

Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers

ٱلَّذِينَ يَجۡعَلُونَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَۚ فَسَوۡفَ يَعۡلَمُونَ﴿٩٦﴾

Allatheena yajAAaloona maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara fasawfa yaAAlamoona

Who make [equal] with Allah another deity. But they are going to know

وَلَقَدۡ نَعۡلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدۡرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ﴿٩٧﴾

Walaqad naAAlamu annaka yadeequ sadruka bima yaqooloona

And We already know that your breast is constrained by what they say

فَسَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ﴿٩٨﴾

Fasabbih bihamdi rabbika wakun mina alssajideena

So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]

وَٱعۡبُدۡ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ يَأۡتِيَكَ ٱلۡيَقِينُ﴿٩٩﴾

WaoAAbud rabbaka hatta yatiyaka alyaqeenu

And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death)

أَتَىٰٓ أَمۡرُ ٱللَّهِ فَلَا تَسۡتَعۡجِلُوهُۚ سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشۡرِكُونَ﴿١﴾

Ata amru Allahi fala tastaAAjiloohu subhanahu wataAAala AAamma yushrikoona

The command of Allah is coming, so be not impatient for it. Exalted is He and high above what they associate with Him

يُنَزِّلُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ بِٱلرُّوحِ مِنۡ أَمۡرِهِۦ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِۦٓ أَنۡ أَنذِرُوٓاْ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنَا۠ فَٱتَّقُونِ﴿٢﴾

Yunazzilu almalaikata bialrroohi min amrihi AAala man yashao min AAibadihi an anthiroo annahu la ilaha illa ana faittaqooni

He sends down the angels, with the inspiration of His command, upon whom He wills of His servants, [telling them], "Warn that there is no deity except Me; so fear Me

خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ بِٱلۡحَقِّۚ تَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشۡرِكُونَ﴿٣﴾

Khalaqa alssamawati waalarda bialhaqqi taAAala AAamma yushrikoona

He created the heavens and earth in truth. High is He above what they associate with Him

خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِن نُّطۡفَةٖ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٞ مُّبِينٞ﴿٤﴾

Khalaqa alinsana min nutfatin faitha huwa khaseemun mubeenun

He created man from a sperm-drop; then at once, he is a clear adversary

وَٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمَ خَلَقَهَاۖ لَكُمۡ فِيهَا دِفۡءٞ وَمَنَٰفِعُ وَمِنۡهَا تَأۡكُلُونَ﴿٥﴾

WaalanAAama khalaqaha lakum feeha difon wamanafiAAu waminha takuloona

And the grazing livestock He has created for you; in them is warmth and [numerous] benefits, and from them you eat

وَلَكُمۡ فِيهَا جَمَالٌ حِينَ تُرِيحُونَ وَحِينَ تَسۡرَحُونَ﴿٦﴾

Walakum feeha jamalun heena tureehoona waheena tasrahoona

And for you in them is [the enjoyment of] beauty when you bring them in [for the evening] and when you send them out [to pasture]

وَتَحۡمِلُ أَثۡقَالَكُمۡ إِلَىٰ بَلَدٖ لَّمۡ تَكُونُواْ بَٰلِغِيهِ إِلَّا بِشِقِّ ٱلۡأَنفُسِۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكُمۡ لَرَءُوفٞ رَّحِيمٞ﴿٧﴾

Watahmilu athqalakum ila baladin lam takoonoo baligheehi illa bishiqqi alanfusi inna rabbakum laraoofun raheemun

And they carry your loads to a land you could not have reached except with difficulty to yourselves. Indeed, your Lord is Kind and Merciful

وَٱلۡخَيۡلَ وَٱلۡبِغَالَ وَٱلۡحَمِيرَ لِتَرۡكَبُوهَا وَزِينَةٗۚ وَيَخۡلُقُ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ﴿٨﴾

Waalkhayla waalbighala waalhameera litarkabooha wazeenatan wayakhluqu ma la taAAlamoona

And [He created] the horses, mules and donkeys for you to ride and [as] adornment. And He creates that which you do not know

وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ قَصۡدُ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَمِنۡهَا جَآئِرٞۚ وَلَوۡ شَآءَ لَهَدَىٰكُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ﴿٩﴾

WaAAala Allahi qasdu alssabeeli waminha jairun walaw shaa lahadakum ajmaAAeena

And upon Allah is the direction of the [right] way, and among the various paths are those deviating. And if He willed, He could have guided you all

هُوَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗۖ لَّكُم مِّنۡهُ شَرَابٞ وَمِنۡهُ شَجَرٞ فِيهِ تُسِيمُونَ﴿١٠﴾

Huwa allathee anzala mina alssamai maan lakum minhu sharabun waminhu shajarun feehi tuseemoona

It is He who sends down rain from the sky; from it is drink and from it is foliage in which you pasture [animals]

يُنۢبِتُ لَكُم بِهِ ٱلزَّرۡعَ وَٱلزَّيۡتُونَ وَٱلنَّخِيلَ وَٱلۡأَعۡنَٰبَ وَمِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ﴿١١﴾

Yunbitu lakum bihi alzzarAAa waalzzaytoona waalnnakheela waalaAAnaba wamin kulli alththamarati inna fee thalika laayatan liqawmin yatafakkaroona

He causes to grow for you thereby the crops, olives, palm trees, grapevines, and from all the fruits. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought

وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيۡلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ وَٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ وَٱلنُّجُومُ مُسَخَّرَٰتُۢ بِأَمۡرِهِۦٓۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَعۡقِلُونَ﴿١٢﴾

Wasakhkhara lakumu allayla waalnnahara waalshshamsa waalqamara waalnnujoomu musakhkharatun biamrihi inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yaAAqiloona

And He has subjected for you the night and day and the sun and moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason

وَمَا ذَرَأَ لَكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مُخۡتَلِفًا أَلۡوَٰنُهُۥٓۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَذَّكَّرُونَ﴿١٣﴾

Wama tharaa lakum fee alardi mukhtalifan alwanuhu inna fee thalika laayatan liqawmin yaththakkaroona

And [He has subjected] whatever He multiplied for you on the earth of varying colors. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who remember

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِي سَخَّرَ ٱلۡبَحۡرَ لِتَأۡكُلُواْ مِنۡهُ لَحۡمٗا طَرِيّٗا وَتَسۡتَخۡرِجُواْ مِنۡهُ حِلۡيَةٗ تَلۡبَسُونَهَاۖ وَتَرَى ٱلۡفُلۡكَ مَوَاخِرَ فِيهِ وَلِتَبۡتَغُواْ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ﴿١٤﴾

Wahuwa allathee sakhkhara albahra litakuloo minhu lahman tariyyan watastakhrijoo minhu hilyatan talbasoonaha watara alfulka mawakhira feehi walitabtaghoo min fadlihi walaAAallakum tashkuroona

And it is He who subjected the sea for you to eat from it tender meat and to extract from it ornaments which you wear. And you see the ships plowing through it, and [He subjected it] that you may seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful

وَأَلۡقَىٰ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ رَوَٰسِيَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِكُمۡ وَأَنۡهَٰرٗا وَسُبُلٗا لَّعَلَّكُمۡ تَهۡتَدُونَ﴿١٥﴾

Waalqa fee alardi rawasiya an tameeda bikum waanharan wasubulan laAAallakum tahtadoona

And He has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it shift with you, and [made] rivers and roads, that you may be guided

وَعَلَٰمَٰتٖۚ وَبِٱلنَّجۡمِ هُمۡ يَهۡتَدُونَ﴿١٦﴾

WaAAalamatin wabialnnajmi hum yahtadoona

And landmarks. And by the stars they are [also] guided

أَفَمَن يَخۡلُقُ كَمَن لَّا يَخۡلُقُۚ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ﴿١٧﴾

Afaman yakhluqu kaman la yakhluqu afala tathakkaroona

Then is He who creates like one who does not create? So will you not be reminded

وَإِن تَعُدُّواْ نِعۡمَةَ ٱللَّهِ لَا تُحۡصُوهَآۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَغَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ﴿١٨﴾

Wain taAAuddoo niAAmata Allahi la tuhsooha inna Allaha laghafoorun raheemun

And if you should count the favors of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful

وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ مَا تُسِرُّونَ وَمَا تُعۡلِنُونَ﴿١٩﴾

WaAllahu yaAAlamu ma tusirroona wama tuAAlinoona

And Allah knows what you conceal and what you declare

وَٱلَّذِينَ يَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ لَا يَخۡلُقُونَ شَيۡـٔٗا وَهُمۡ يُخۡلَقُونَ﴿٢٠﴾

Waallatheena yadAAoona min dooni Allahi la yakhluqoona shayan wahum yukhlaqoona

And those they invoke other than Allah create nothing, and they [themselves] are created

أَمۡوَٰتٌ غَيۡرُ أَحۡيَآءٖۖ وَمَا يَشۡعُرُونَ أَيَّانَ يُبۡعَثُونَ﴿٢١﴾

Amwatun ghayru ahyain wama yashAAuroona ayyana yubAAathoona

They are, [in fact], dead, not alive, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected

إِلَٰهُكُمۡ إِلَٰهٞ وَٰحِدٞۚ فَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ قُلُوبُهُم مُّنكِرَةٞ وَهُم مُّسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ﴿٢٢﴾

Ilahukum ilahun wahidun faallatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati quloobuhum munkiratun wahum mustakbiroona

Your god is one God. But those who do not believe in the Hereafter - their hearts are disapproving, and they are arrogant

لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعۡلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعۡلِنُونَۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُسۡتَكۡبِرِينَ﴿٢٣﴾

La jarama anna Allaha yaAAlamu ma yusirroona wama yuAAlinoona innahu la yuhibbu almustakbireena

Assuredly, Allah knows what they conceal and what they declare. Indeed, He does not like the arrogant

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُم مَّاذَآ أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُمۡ قَالُوٓاْ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ﴿٢٤﴾

Waitha qeela lahum matha anzala rabbukum qaloo asateeru alawwaleena

And when it is said to them, "What has your Lord sent down?" They say, "Legends of the former peoples

لِيَحۡمِلُوٓاْ أَوۡزَارَهُمۡ كَامِلَةٗ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ وَمِنۡ أَوۡزَارِ ٱلَّذِينَ يُضِلُّونَهُم بِغَيۡرِ عِلۡمٍۗ أَلَا سَآءَ مَا يَزِرُونَ﴿٢٥﴾

Liyahmiloo awzarahum kamilatan yawma alqiyamati wamin awzari allatheena yudilloonahum bighayri AAilmin ala saa ma yaziroona

That they may bear their own burdens in full on the Day of Resurrection and some of the burdens of those whom they misguide without knowledge. Unquestionably, evil is that which they bear

قَدۡ مَكَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ فَأَتَى ٱللَّهُ بُنۡيَٰنَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقَوَاعِدِ فَخَرَّ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلسَّقۡفُ مِن فَوۡقِهِمۡ وَأَتَىٰهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ﴿٢٦﴾

Qad makara allatheena min qablihim faata Allahu bunyanahum mina alqawaAAidi fakharra AAalayhimu alssaqfu min fawqihim waatahumu alAAathabu min haythu la yashAAuroona

Those before them had already plotted, but Allah came at their building from the foundations, so the roof fell upon them from above them, and the punishment came to them from where they did not perceive

ثُمَّ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ يُخۡزِيهِمۡ وَيَقُولُ أَيۡنَ شُرَكَآءِيَ ٱلَّذِينَ كُنتُمۡ تُشَـٰٓقُّونَ فِيهِمۡۚ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡعِلۡمَ إِنَّ ٱلۡخِزۡيَ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ وَٱلسُّوٓءَ عَلَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ﴿٢٧﴾

Thumma yawma alqiyamati yukhzeehim wayaqoolu ayna shurakaiya allatheena kuntum tushaqqoona feehim qala allatheena ootoo alAAilma inna alkhizya alyawma waalssooa AAala alkafireena

Then on the Day of Resurrection He will disgrace them and say, "Where are My 'partners' for whom you used to oppose [the believers]?" Those who were given knowledge will say, "Indeed disgrace, this Day, and evil are upon the disbelievers

ٱلَّذِينَ تَتَوَفَّىٰهُمُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ ظَالِمِيٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡۖ فَأَلۡقَوُاْ ٱلسَّلَمَ مَا كُنَّا نَعۡمَلُ مِن سُوٓءِۭۚ بَلَىٰٓۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمُۢ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ﴿٢٨﴾

Allatheena tatawaffahumu almalaikatu thalimee anfusihim faalqawoo alssalama ma kunna naAAmalu min sooin bala inna Allaha AAaleemun bima kuntum taAAmaloona

The ones whom the angels take in death [while] wronging themselves, and [who] then offer submission, [saying], "We were not doing any evil." But, yes! Indeed, Allah is Knowing of what you used to do

فَٱدۡخُلُوٓاْ أَبۡوَٰبَ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَاۖ فَلَبِئۡسَ مَثۡوَى ٱلۡمُتَكَبِّرِينَ﴿٢٩﴾

Faodkhuloo abwaba jahannama khalideena feeha falabisa mathwa almutakabbireena

So enter the gates of Hell to abide eternally therein, and how wretched is the residence of the arrogant

۞وَقِيلَ لِلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوۡاْ مَاذَآ أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُمۡۚ قَالُواْ خَيۡرٗاۗ لِّلَّذِينَ أَحۡسَنُواْ فِي هَٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا حَسَنَةٞۚ وَلَدَارُ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ خَيۡرٞۚ وَلَنِعۡمَ دَارُ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ﴿٣٠﴾

Waqeela lillatheena ittaqaw matha anzala rabbukum qaloo khayran lillatheena ahsanoo fee hathihi alddunya hasanatun waladaru alakhirati khayrun walaniAAma daru almuttaqeena

And it will be said to those who feared Allah, "What did your Lord send down?" They will say, "[That which is] good." For those who do good in this world is good; and the home of the Hereafter is better. And how excellent is the home of the righteous

جَنَّـٰتُ عَدۡنٖ يَدۡخُلُونَهَا تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۖ لَهُمۡ فِيهَا مَا يَشَآءُونَۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يَجۡزِي ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ﴿٣١﴾

Jannatu AAadnin yadkhuloonaha tajree min tahtiha alanharu lahum feeha ma yashaoona kathalika yajzee Allahu almuttaqeena

Gardens of perpetual residence, which they will enter, beneath which rivers flow. They will have therein whatever they wish. Thus does Allah reward the righteous

ٱلَّذِينَ تَتَوَفَّىٰهُمُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ طَيِّبِينَ يَقُولُونَ سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱدۡخُلُواْ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ﴿٣٢﴾

Allatheena tatawaffahumu almalaikatu tayyibeena yaqooloona salamun AAalaykumu odkhuloo aljannata bima kuntum taAAmaloona

The ones whom the angels take in death, [being] good and pure; [the angels] will say, "Peace be upon you. Enter Paradise for what you used to do

هَلۡ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن تَأۡتِيَهُمُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ أَوۡ يَأۡتِيَ أَمۡرُ رَبِّكَۚ كَذَٰلِكَ فَعَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡۚ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمۡ يَظۡلِمُونَ﴿٣٣﴾

Hal yanthuroona illa an tatiyahumu almalaikatu aw yatiya amru rabbika kathalika faAAala allatheena min qablihim wama thalamahumu Allahu walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona

Do the disbelievers await [anything] except that the angels should come to them or there comes the command of your Lord? Thus did those do before them. And Allah wronged them not, but they had been wronging themselves

فَأَصَابَهُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا عَمِلُواْ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ﴿٣٤﴾

Faasabahum sayyiatu ma AAamiloo wahaqa bihim ma kanoo bihi yastahzioona

So they were struck by the evil consequences of what they did and were enveloped by what they used to ridicule

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشۡرَكُواْ لَوۡ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَا عَبَدۡنَا مِن دُونِهِۦ مِن شَيۡءٖ نَّحۡنُ وَلَآ ءَابَآؤُنَا وَلَا حَرَّمۡنَا مِن دُونِهِۦ مِن شَيۡءٖۚ كَذَٰلِكَ فَعَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡۚ فَهَلۡ عَلَى ٱلرُّسُلِ إِلَّا ٱلۡبَلَٰغُ ٱلۡمُبِينُ﴿٣٥﴾

Waqala allatheena ashrakoo law shaa Allahu ma AAabadna min doonihi min shayin nahnu wala abaona wala harramna min doonihi min shayin kathalika faAAala allatheena min qablihim fahal AAala alrrusuli illa albalaghu almubeenu

And those who associate others with Allah say, "If Allah had willed, we would not have worshipped anything other than Him, neither we nor our fathers, nor would we have forbidden anything through other than Him." Thus did those do before them. So is there upon the messengers except [the duty of] clear notification

وَلَقَدۡ بَعَثۡنَا فِي كُلِّ أُمَّةٖ رَّسُولًا أَنِ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱجۡتَنِبُواْ ٱلطَّـٰغُوتَۖ فَمِنۡهُم مَّنۡ هَدَى ٱللَّهُ وَمِنۡهُم مَّنۡ حَقَّتۡ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلضَّلَٰلَةُۚ فَسِيرُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَٱنظُرُواْ كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ﴿٣٦﴾

Walaqad baAAathna fee kulli ommatin rasoolan ani oAAbudoo Allaha waijtaniboo alttaghoota faminhum man hada Allahu waminhum man haqqat AAalayhi alddalalatu faseeroo fee alardi faonthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu almukaththibeena

And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], "Worship Allah and avoid Taghut." And among them were those whom Allah guided, and among them were those upon whom error was [deservedly] decreed. So proceed through the earth and observe how was the end of the deniers

إِن تَحۡرِصۡ عَلَىٰ هُدَىٰهُمۡ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهۡدِي مَن يُضِلُّۖ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّـٰصِرِينَ﴿٣٧﴾

In tahris AAala hudahum fainna Allaha la yahdee man yudillu wama lahum min nasireena

[Even] if you should strive for their guidance, [O Muhammad], indeed, Allah does not guide those He sends astray, and they will have no helpers

وَأَقۡسَمُواْ بِٱللَّهِ جَهۡدَ أَيۡمَٰنِهِمۡ لَا يَبۡعَثُ ٱللَّهُ مَن يَمُوتُۚ بَلَىٰ وَعۡدًا عَلَيۡهِ حَقّٗا وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ﴿٣٨﴾

Waaqsamoo biAllahi jahda aymanihim la yabAAathu Allahu man yamootu bala waAAdan AAalayhi haqqan walakinna akthara alnnasi la yaAAlamoona

And they swear by Allah their strongest oaths [that] Allah will not resurrect one who dies. But yes - [it is] a true promise [binding] upon Him, but most of the people do not know

لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلَّذِي يَخۡتَلِفُونَ فِيهِ وَلِيَعۡلَمَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ أَنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ كَٰذِبِينَ﴿٣٩﴾

Liyubayyina lahumu allathee yakhtalifoona feehi waliyaAAlama allatheena kafaroo annahum kanoo kathibeena

[It is] so He will make clear to them [the truth of] that wherein they differ and so those who have disbelieved may know that they were liars

إِنَّمَا قَوۡلُنَا لِشَيۡءٍ إِذَآ أَرَدۡنَٰهُ أَن نَّقُولَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ﴿٤٠﴾

Innama qawluna lishayin itha aradnahu an naqoola lahu kun fayakoonu

Indeed, Our word to a thing when We intend it is but that We say to it, "Be," and it is

وَٱلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُواْ فِي ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا ظُلِمُواْ لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمۡ فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا حَسَنَةٗۖ وَلَأَجۡرُ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ أَكۡبَرُۚ لَوۡ كَانُواْ يَعۡلَمُونَ﴿٤١﴾

Waallatheena hajaroo fee Allahi min baAAdi ma thulimoo lanubawwiannahum fee alddunya hasanatan walaajru alakhirati akbaru law kanoo yaAAlamoona

And those who emigrated for [the cause of] Allah after they had been wronged - We will surely settle them in this world in a good place; but the reward of the Hereafter is greater, if only they could know

ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُواْ وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ﴿٤٢﴾

Allatheena sabaroo waAAala rabbihim yatawakkaloona

[They are] those who endured patiently and upon their Lord relied

وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالٗا نُّوحِيٓ إِلَيۡهِمۡۖ فَسۡـَٔلُوٓاْ أَهۡلَ ٱلذِّكۡرِ إِن كُنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ﴿٤٣﴾

Wama arsalna min qablika illa rijalan noohee ilayhim faisaloo ahla alththikri in kuntum la taAAlamoona

And We sent not before you except men to whom We revealed [Our message]. So ask the people of the message if you do not know

بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ وَٱلزُّبُرِۗ وَأَنزَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ ٱلذِّكۡرَ لِتُبَيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ مَا نُزِّلَ إِلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَعَلَّهُمۡ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ﴿٤٤﴾

Bialbayyinati waalzzuburi waanzalna ilayka alththikra litubayyina lilnnasi ma nuzzila ilayhim walaAAallahum yatafakkaroona

[We sent them] with clear proofs and written ordinances. And We revealed to you the message that you may make clear to the people what was sent down to them and that they might give thought

أَفَأَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مَكَرُواْ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن يَخۡسِفَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ أَوۡ يَأۡتِيَهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ﴿٤٥﴾

Afaamina allatheena makaroo alssayyiati an yakhsifa Allahu bihimu alarda aw yatiyahumu alAAathabu min haythu la yashAAuroona

Then, do those who have planned evil deeds feel secure that Allah will not cause the earth to swallow them or that the punishment will not come upon them from where they do not perceive

أَوۡ يَأۡخُذَهُمۡ فِي تَقَلُّبِهِمۡ فَمَا هُم بِمُعۡجِزِينَ﴿٤٦﴾

Aw yakhuthahum fee taqallubihim fama hum bimuAAjizeena

Or that He would not seize them during their [usual] activity, and they could not cause failure

أَوۡ يَأۡخُذَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ تَخَوُّفٖ فَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمۡ لَرَءُوفٞ رَّحِيمٌ﴿٤٧﴾

Aw yakhuthahum AAala takhawwufin fainna rabbakum laraoofun raheemun

Or that He would not seize them gradually [in a state of dread]? But indeed, your Lord is Kind and Merciful

أَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ مَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَيۡءٖ يَتَفَيَّؤُاْ ظِلَٰلُهُۥ عَنِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ وَٱلشَّمَآئِلِ سُجَّدٗا لِّلَّهِ وَهُمۡ دَٰخِرُونَ﴿٤٨﴾

Awa lam yaraw ila ma khalaqa Allahu min shayin yatafayyao thilaluhu AAani alyameeni waalshshamaili sujjadan lillahi wahum dakhiroona

Have they not considered what things Allah has created? Their shadows incline to the right and to the left, prostrating to Allah, while they are humble

وَلِلَّهِۤ يَسۡجُدُۤ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مِن دَآبَّةٖ وَٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُمۡ لَا يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ﴿٤٩﴾

Walillahi yasjudu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi min dabbatin waalmalaikatu wahum la yastakbiroona

And to Allah prostrates whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth of creatures, and the angels [as well], and they are not arrogant

يَخَافُونَ رَبَّهُم مِّن فَوۡقِهِمۡ وَيَفۡعَلُونَ مَا يُؤۡمَرُونَ۩﴿٥٠﴾

Yakhafoona rabbahum min fawqihim wayafAAaloona ma yumaroona

They fear their Lord above them, and they do what they are commanded
